This has been one of our most exciting projects—building a madrassah from the ground up for men, which flourished beyond expectations. Its success sparked another fundraiser within the Mercy Appeal team, allowing us to expand the madrassah and provide the same vital access to education for sisters as well. The madrassahs were named Sayyiduna Abu Bakr As-Siddique رضي الله عنه for the men and Sayyidatuna A'isha رضي الله عنها for the sisters.
A madrassah, the Arabic term for any educational institution, serves as more than just a place for Islamic learning. In this particular madrassah, students not only study core Islamic fundamentals but also receive essential education in subjects like mathematics, sciences, and languages, ensuring a well-rounded academic foundation. This madrassah also serves as a vibrant community hub, bringing residents together regularly—especially during cherished occasions like Eid and Ramadan meals—fostering a sense of unity and belonging.
We are committed to honouring your generosity and doing our best to fulfil your requests. Mercy Appeal will make every effort to allocate your donation as specified. However, if circumstances prevent us from using your contribution as intended, we will direct it toward similar projects in the same country or support urgent initiatives in other regions where help is needed most.
